Publisher Description
Dieter Hall first arrived in New York in the 1980s. When he would go to parties, they would ask him his name. He would say “Dieter” and people would reply “Oh Detour! Hello!” That was the story of his life, full of detours and deviating pathways. His paintings also capture this wondrous feeling of a ‘change of direction’ something slightly off and unexpected. They’re endearing visual poems, often very intimate, and with no ideals, only beautiful imperfections. Linda Jensen
