Publisher Description
Zom-Bis a radical new series about a zombie apocalypse, told in the first person by one of its victims. The series combines classic Shan action with a fiendishly twisting plot and hard-hitting and thought-provoking moral questions dealing with racism, abuse of power and more.
As Darren says, "It's a big, sprawling, vicious tale... a grisly piece of escapism, and a barbed look at the world in which we live. Each book in the series is short, fast-paced and bloody. A high body-count is guaranteed!"
Can you love a bullying racist thug if he's your father?
How do you react when confronted with your darkest inner demons?
What do you do when zombies attack?
B Smith is about to find out...
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Shan, author of the Cirque du Freak and Demonata series, enters the zombie genre in a thoroughly bloody fashion with this slow-burning horror piece, which opens a planned 12-book series. This slim volume starts off quietly, introducing readers to narrator B Smith, an English teen who seems headed for a bad end, a born troublemaker following the example of a physically abusive, racist, and thuggish father. Struggling with violent impulses, a desire for paternal approval, and a lowbrow group of friends, B makes one wrong choice after another, leading up to the moment of truth, when a devastating zombie outbreak turns everyday existence into a life-or-death struggle. With the body count rising rapidly and everybody fending for themselves, B's true colors finally show at least one of the late revelations should catch readers off guard setting the stage for the next entry. Character development is impressive for a relatively short book, and Shan executes the transition from normalcy to wholesale terror masterfully. It's a strong start, but there's a lot of story left to go. Ages 12 up.

Umm ok I'm freaked out....
Although this book was amazing , all through the book I thought b was a boy and stood for Ben or something but at the end when the dad says "stop she's my daughter" it blew my mind away and I had to read it over and over again just to check if I read it right.... I don't know maybe it was just me but then with the other books it was definitely more clearer that she was a girl. But I'm glad she was such a tomboy because it's quite rare I enjoy books with tomboys ,so thank you soo much for the effort you put into the book and the whole series for that matter see ya!!!
