Breathtakingly good!
This book is fantastic, the sweeping narrative if section 2 is mind blowing.
One of the best Trek books I've ever read - and I've read nearly all of them...
It finally happened it was only a matter
....Of time
Where do I start on this one a great plot twist a great view into someone we long thought dead,
The book starts with a puzzle. a puzzle that once played out will have long term effects on the ST galaxy now as we know it,
In a change which we don't often see the great starship Enterprise E takes a backseat in this as the main book is given and rightly so over to someone else who was a pleasure to read. And remembered and used the the basic rule he always of having a backup plan to great effect.
What is best about this is on the day of Download I actually tweeted DM saying I had a theory already and I'm actually glad I got some of it wrong as the book I read ended up much better
DM continues to expand on what we know and explores new ways we can take this long standing galaxy.
By adding more then one. And leaving the book at it shocking conclusion and in a way am extremely happy that they did this as it allows us to explore more of the galaxy in a way we don't normally by taking us off a starfleet ship and If the writers choose a civilian ship where I could see the dangers of that is making it into an Sci fi adventure rather then a exploration of known/unknown space
My only crit. Would be something that happened near the end but again uses a harking back to stuff that we see before
So to that officer RIP.
Not Impressed
I have never gave up on a Star Trek book before but got to page 192 and could not take it any more, may go back to it at a later date as it the first of 3 books.
