Between March 2020 and March 2021, the country experienced nearly three “hundred year events”.  The global pandemic, the first in 102 years, nearly shut the entire country down and the world.  The murder of George Floyd on May 25, 2020 by an on duty police officer caused a social rebellion around the world, and the record-breaking turnout in the 2020 Presidential Election that exposed the country’s underbelly of hate and conspiracy theories and led to a defeated President being impeached for a second time.  This book is a photographic month to month documentary revealing the impact of those event’s on the Nation’s Capital. From 8-foot high fences surrounding the U.S. Capitol Complex on one end of Pennsylvania Avenue to layered security fences surrounding the White House Complex on the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue. Protest art, protesters in the tens of thousands, insurrection property damage and demands for accountability were all on the front burner.
