Lilith Enraptured

Sorin of Firewall lives in a land forever at war. In fact, the Starian men are so busy fighting, their marriage ceremony has been reduced to an alpha male “will of the gods” event where they simply pick a woman out of a lineup and claim her as a wife. With women becoming scarce, it’s necessary to trade the off-world Divinity Corporation for brides. Duty-bound to attend the ceremony, he has no intention of picking a bride, let alone one from another dimension. That is, until he sees Lilith, the bewitching woman sent by the gods to reward—or punish?—him.

Fighting Lady Jayne

"It is in me to run and it is in you to capture."

Ronen of Firewall longs for a woman to warm his bed and his home, but he had no intention of choosing a bride. In an unprecedented move, one chooses him. Never in the history of the marriage ceremony has a woman dared to lay claim. How can he resist the alluring Lady Jayne? She’s confident and sure in her decision to be with him—until their wedding night when she’s nowhere to be found. But, Ronen is not one to shy from a battle. He will find Jayne and, when he does, he will do everything he can to tame the heart of his wayward wife.

Keeping Paige

Aidan’s sure he’s being rewarded by fate—until his new bride tries to back out of their marriage.

Ordered by the king to marry, the warrior Sir Aidan of Fallenrock is dead set against taking a bartered bride from a parallel plane. He believes his people should be patient and wait for the gods to bless them. When the beautiful Lady Paige comes through the sacred rings, kissing him like she knows their joined fate, Aidan’s sure he’s being rewarded—until his new bride tries to back out of their marriage.

Taking Karre

Warrior Sir Vidar of Spearhead is too busy guarding the borderlands of his war-torn country to bother with the headache of selecting a bride. Ordered to marry by the king, he plans to grab a woman and get back to the war front, never to think of it again. That is until he meets the alluring Lady Karre with her teasing eyes, lush lips, and irresistible ways.

Portal Warriors

is the first four books in the Divinity Warriors series. A boxset collection of great action, adventure, romance, humor and creative wit. Lilith Enraptured starts with Lord Sorin of Firewall & Divinity Corp Analyst Lilith Gria. Then we dive into Fighting Lady Jayne with Lord Ronen of Firewall (Sorin’s younger brother) & Inter-dimensional boxer Jayne “The Sweet” Hart. Cannot forget Keeping Paige who introduces Sir Aiden of Fallenrock & Forestter psychic Paige. With an epic finale of Taking Karre with Sir Vidar of Spearhead & inter-dimensional thief Karre. You will laugh, cry, scream, and be emotionally interactive but you will enjoy the ride.

Goddess of Chaos ,

"She loved discovering the different intricate paths of the human experience,"

Lilith Enraptured (Divinity Warriors #1)

"She loved discovering the different intricate paths of the human experience,"

Lilith loves observing other cultures, learning about them, and sharing what she's discovered. Getting thrown into a barbaric world with no warning, no support, and no way home is not what she signed up for.

Sorin is an honorable warrior, but he can't help wondering if the Gods have it in for him.

This done in one book establishes a fascinating Universe with interesting characters, and explores tradition and faith vs. questioning, analyzing, and seeking to understand, even when the truth is hard to hear.

Fighting Lady Jayne

…”saying more with her fist than she could with flustered words.”

Jayne is a boxing champion, a fighter in every sense. Ending up on a barbaric world, culturally trapped in the Middle Ages, where women are to be protected is torture for her, and she will fight her way free.

Ronen wasn’t planning to leave the claiming ceremony with a wife, but sometimes life happens and all you can do is trust in the will of the Gods… and do everything you can to defeat the enemy and defend your honor.

This done in one solid stand alone book does some really nice world building. I particularly enjoyed the Queen… I’d love to read the King and Queen’s story, as these two are each, in their own right, great leaders, which shines through in how they deal with Ronen and Jayne. A story about reacting, and instinctive responses we don’t always realize we have, this is a wonderful battle which gets truly interesting when Ronen and Jayne come to understand what they are really fighting against.

Keeping Paige (Divinity Warriors, #3)

“Paige instantly chose to walk in the direction of freedom…”

Paige has lived her life as an outcast, burdened with a curse she doesn’t want any more than those around her do. When she’s flung into a world where her curse is viewed as a blessing, people listen to her instead of avoiding her, and a charming knight named Aidan seems willing to accept her as she is, her heart falls back on old habits, and soon, so do her feet.

This done in one book gives a lot of world building for Staria, spending time in a village and giving a glimpse of the culture and daily life, where the previous two books have focused on the war, and larger scale issues for this world.

So often miscommunications are a key to the unfolding drama of stories, so I appreciated how believable and relatable the key ones were here. Paige is carrying with her the baggage of her past experiences, and it influences how she sees this world, what she expects, and ultimately how she reacts.

Taking Karre (Divinity Warriors, #4)

"Because right now, in this moment..."

Karre is an independent, can-do woman. She doesn't sit around waiting for others to take care of things, she gets things done... right up until she's imprisoned in marriage to a warrior deteremined to protect her.

I loved the concept of someone else trying to use marriage to contain Karre. (Neither her, nor the groom were in on that.) Karre was a character that simply couldn't be contained, in part because she was both determined, and smart... and eager to use that brain of hers.

As for Vidar, he is ready to take up the challenge... and when these two have a miscommunication, it's a laugh out loud sequence that leads to some unexpected twists.

These four books come together to tell a well crafted story of a Universe in which people can move between one "plane" and another -- seeing the various ways in which our world might have played out... and by the end, a war without end, and warrior culture, has learned a lot from these otherworldly women.

I was gifted with a copy of Portal Warriors: The Complete Divinity Warriors Series, and chose to share my thoughts.
