Publisher Description

After literally stumbling into orbs appearing as bright as light bulbs in photographs he was taking at a spiritual retreat, Dr. Klaus Heinemann immediately sensed that he was onto something profound. There was no choice but to convince himself that his notion was on solid grounds. Heinemann looked at thousands of pictures he had taken earlier, and thousands more would be taken to test the hypothesis that these light circles are nothing less than emanations from Spirit beings.

Dr. Míceál Ledwith had a similar experience after the orb phenomenon was first made known to him through the teachings of Ramtha. He began an intense and systematic study of orbs in all sort of situations, day and night, and in all sorts of atmospheric conditions, in order to discover all he could about their nature, the situations in which their presence could be most easily detected, and what implications they might have for our understanding of our own place in the cosmos. To date, he has amassed a collection of well over 100,000 images.

In The Orb Project, Ledwith and Heinemann present their fascinating discoveries, along with practical tips that amateur digital photographers can use to photograph orbs and properly distinguish them from "false" orbs that are really dust or water particles. They offer guidelines on deciphering the orbs' various patterns, features, and characteristics, based on their extensive research.

As Dr. Ledwith points out, once you develop a keen and sustained interest in photographing spirit entities, some quite interesting things begin to happen: the brain stops censoring these images, and you can begin to see with orbs with the naked eye -- in more color and detail than is visible to even a digital camera.

Ledwith and Heinemann also explore communication with orbs and what their existence means to our lives. The implications of a realization that we are "surrounded by a cloud of witnesses" are enormous and incredibly hopeful for the world at large.

Interesting but with flashes of ineptitude

Orbs are a very controversial subject where one can find believers and skeptics squaring off in heated arguments supporting their respective cases. I have been studying orbs for about five years using transferable skills from police-science and criminology. As a former detective for a major metropolitan police department, I was taught scientific methods of investigating crime scenes including techniques for 35mm photography in dimly lit areas.

Dr. Heinemann and Dr. Ledwith collaborated to produce this book taking separate but converging paths to orb Investigations. One was from a spiritual perspective and the other from the view of an experimental physics professor. Both have logical arguments that are easy to follow for the most part but with an occasional lack of common sense.

My biggest complaint was the description Dr. Heinemann gave for his method of attempting to communicate with orbs. He recognized that orbs sometimes took on a hexagon shape instead of the traditional round shape. I determined that to be nothing more than the limitation of my lens’ ability to render out of focus light. He also attributed that to the shutter’s shape and out of focus light but went further to suggest that it was somehow intentional. He devised a code where he would ask the orb a question, then snap off a picture with a “Yes” from the orb being a hexagon shape and a “no” a round shape. I was incredulous. From the Jetsons back to the Flintstones. The first problem I had was why he was taking individual snapshots instead of shooting a movie with an infrared camera. They were available when the book was written and my work was done with just such a Sony camcorder with Nightshot made during that time. There is a lot more information available at 30 images per second than with the single picture from a digital camera. Secondly, he felt the camera had the ability to record an orb that couldn’t be seen but curiously didn’t connect that to the exact same phenomenon of EVPs, or Electronic Voice Phenomenon. In my study of orbs I always shot a movie with infrared cameras and infrared flood lights and recorded the “voices” of the orbs with digital audio recorders. Orbs make a lot of noise, both in their propulsion and verbally. In addition to being a much better form of communication, it has the added advantage that an orb can offer up as hoc answers to questions I hadn’t yet thought of. One even asked me a question one time: “where did you get your camera?” One time I disabled the microphones but as the orb shot past my camera it made a swoosh sound on the audio track. I can’t explain it.

One place they didn’t agree was on colors. One thought they came in many different colors that might give a clue as to the dimension they came from while the other author said they just came in white. Color is the one area I have a great deal of difficulty with. Set the white balance on your camera a little too cool and the orb will look bluish. I think there are too many variables for the amateur orb hunter to be able to assign meaning to any particular color.

I’m concerned this book is already out of date at ten years old. I recommend searching for information on orbs from other respected authors before spending money on this one.

Very interesting! enjoyed it. Believe it to be true! I have some spirit photos of my own.
