How do you come back from the point of no return?

Seth McCoy was the last person to see his best friend, Isaac, alive, and the first to find him dead. It was just another night, just another party, just another time when Isaac drank too much and passed out on the lawn. Only this time, Isaac didn't wake up.

Convinced that his own actions led to his friend's death, Seth is torn between turning his life around . . . or losing himself completely.

Then he meets Rosetta: so beautiful and so different from everything and everyone he's ever known. But Rosetta has secrets of her own, and Seth soon realizes he isn't the only one who needs saving . . .

One of the Best Books I've Ever Been Lucky Enough to Read

This book came highly recommended to me, especially after reading The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. These two books share similar themes involving the lives of young men and women, the reality of death, and growing-up. This novel had me so intrigued, I finished it in one evening. What makes this book special is that it helps convey the hardships that the young people of today face. Peer pressure, drugs, sex, alcohol, et al. I recommend this book because it shows that even in the face of adversity, one can overcome any obstacle at any time. That we all have two paths in live we can take. We control our destiny, and even though there are many things in our way, we can choose to fight through them. The protagonist, Seth McCoy, shows that even though he had a troubled childhood, he didn't take the easy way out. He could have easily fallen into the trap and just had a troubled life as an adult. Having all the odds against him, he was able to overcome these obstacles. This book shows its readers that we can all choose to overcome our problems, if we want to do so.
