Publisher Description

A thrilling novel that continues the epic saga of the Starship Voyager!

Little is known about the Children of the Storm—one of the most unique and potentially dangerous species the Federation has ever encountered. Non-corporeal and traveling through space in vessels apparently propelled by thought alone, the Children of the Storm at one time managed to destroy thousands of Borg ships without firing a single conventional weapon.

Now in its current mission to the Delta Quadrant, Captain Chakotay and Fleet Commander Afsarah Eden must unravel whythree Federation starships—the U.S.S. Quirinal, Planck, and Demeter—have suddenly been targeted without provocation and with extreme prejudice by the powerful Children of the Storm...with thousands of Starfleet lives at stake from an enemy that the Federation can only begin to comprehend...

To the journey

The full circle fleet confronts the children of the storm. A race of hostile aliens discovered in the Destiny Trilogy. The story is classic Star Trek. Lots of great character beats as the Voyager story continues. Looking forward to the next book

An intriguing, but very welcome surprise

For the most part Star Trek novels that pick up after the shows and films are not necessarily easy to digest. They often seem too simple, or the characters too different, and the settings somehow... Incomplete.

That's been changing over the last few years with the rise of new storyline threads, and especially, with authors such as Kirsten Beyer that have brought their skill and mettle to an era devoid of any Trek series to inspire the imagination of millions.

This book not only embraces everything Voyager's crew finally became by the end of the tv series, it also grows and expands it on into ongoing personal lives and new, fresh, and often difficult professional and personal relationships. Hard moments are plentiful, but the rewards of seeing them through are amazing. Nothing in this book is simply taken for granted or handed down. In true Star Trek tradition, there are moments when what you think is about to happen because of these war torn souls ends up complicated by so many other factors.

Read this book, and enjoy it, and to Kirsten: I honestly can't wait to see what you come up with next.

Great!!

Though Voyager will never be the same without Kathryn Janeway, I really enjoyed this book! It's great to see our favorite characters mature and move on with their lives, and also interesting to be introduced to new ships, new characters and new challenges as well. I didn't think that Voyager would be worthwhile once the original premise of being "lost in space" was concluded, but I was wrong. Well done!
