In the final installment, The Pool of Fire, Will and friends fight against time to defend the human race from extinction, the end result of the Tripods' scheme.

Great book!
It's a lot darker and mature (to me at least than the previous installment of the Tripod Trilogy) but this is a good thing and I recommend it to any SciFi fan.
