Publisher Description

When an old friend returns to town, Meg plans a party to bring the old gang back together, but someone—or something—will do anything to keep it from happening in this chilling tale from Goosebumps author R.L. Stine.

A year ago, Meg Dalton’s group of friends fractured. Evan died in the Fear Street woods. Ellen moved away. The ones that stayed behind changed. And Meg felt as if she’d lost her best friends. Lately, even her boyfriend Tony has been acting moody and strange. But things may finally be looking up. Ellen is coming to visit! And what better way to bring old friends together than with a surprise party for her arrival?

That’s when the terror begins—the phone calls, the threats, the acts of violence. “Cancel the party—or else,” whispers the voice on the phone. Meg is terrified. Who would do so many terrible things to stop her party? To find out, she’ll have to venture into the dark Fear Street woods that took Evan’s life last year.

It’s gonna be a killer party!

The Surprise Party may have been one of the first books in the Fear Street series, but I read tons of other books before I read this one. Some of the other books are better, but this is a suspenseful book, a great story that fans of the series will definitely enjoy!😉 After her boyfriend, Evan was killed in a mysterious accident in the woods, Ellen left Shadyside, and nothing was ever the same. Meg felt as if she had lost her best friends. When she discovers that Ellen is moving back to town, she sees the perfect opportunity to reunite all of her old friends—by throwing a surprise party for Ellen. There’s just one problem—someone doesn’t want the party to happen. And they make their point by terrorizing Meg with threatening phone calls. What really happened to Evan last year? Meg has no doubt that his death is the reason she is being stalked. Can she solve the mystery before they try to kill her... or before they decide to turn the party into a bloodbath? What’s surprising is that The New Girl is the first Fear Street book because this would have been a great introduction to this terrifying series for any and all readers!👍🏻👍🏻
