A terrific resource for the chronically ill
I could read and reread this and another of Bernhard’s books “How to be Sick” a thousand times and still find new gems of wisdom, compassion, self-awareness, and generosity.
I am currently in a bad flare of my illness and I read this book in just a few sittings and it enormously helped me recalibrate my thinking. I also feel less alone which is a gift in itself.
I am grateful Toni took her own painful struggle and turned it into such helpful books for those of us with chronic illness. Her wisdom is a light in what can otherwise be a very dark and trying experience.
