Doris Kearns Goodwin gives a personal and historic account of the successful accomplishments and tragic events of the 1960’s and 1970’s. The meticulous record keeping from her husband, Richard Goodwin, brings new insights into his vast contributions to this period in history. We would all do well to learn from the history this couple witnessed firsthand.

So, so good. So glad she wrote it, so glad I read it. I took notes. I was so young during the sixties, this book helped me understand and put into perspective my memories of that “best of times, worst of times.”
This one really resonates
I have ready Dorris Kearns Goodwins’ books and have always found her to be an amazing historian and story teller. However, the other books were history, this one actually bridges the divide between history, current and future.
