Publisher Description
The bestselling author of the The Swap takes you “on a wild psychological ride with this addictive thriller” (Palm Beach Daily News) about what happens when a seemingly perfect family is pushed to the edge.
Thomas and Viv Adler are the envy of their neighbors: attractive, successful, with well-mannered children and a beautifully restored home.
Until one morning, when they wake up to find their porch has been pelted with eggs. It’s a prank, Thomas insists; the work of a few out-of-control kids. But when a smoke bomb is tossed on their front lawn, and their car’s tires are punctured, the family begins to worry.
Surveillance cameras show nothing but grainy images of shadowy figures in hoodies. And the police dismiss the attacks, insisting they’re just the work of bored teenagers. Unable to identify the perpetrators, the Adlers are helpless as the assaults escalate into violence, and worse. And each new violation brings with it a growing fear. Because everyone in the Adler family is keeping a secret—not just from the outside world, but from each other. And secrets can be very dangerous….
“Unsettling and darkly sublime, Robyn Harding deftly explores twisted family dynamics and devastating secrets in suburbia in this stunning novel that will shock readers by the final page” (Christina McDonald, USA TODAY bestselling author of The Night Olivia Fell).
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Viv and Thomas Adler, the outwardly successful Portland, Ore., couple at the center of this highly entertaining domestic thriller from Harding (The Swap), appear to have the perfect life. So why is someone targeting them with such late-night harassments as pelting their home with eggs and rotten vegetables? Burdened with financial woes, Viv and Thomas and their two children are falling apart. Viv, who views her interior decorating business as more like a hobby, steals little things from friends and clients. Moreover, she's convinced that Thomas, a real estate broker, is cheating on her, though he worries about betraying her in a worse way. College sophomore Eli, who's home for the summer, won't say why he's dropping out, while 17-year-old Tarryn sequesters herself in her basement bedroom, dressed in sexy lingerie and a wig, talking with well-paying customers in a private online chat room. Each of their secrets is potentially devastating, yet none seems powerful enough to provoke the escalating attacks. The brisk plot takes several clever twists before building to a shocking act of violence. Harding is sure to win new fans with this one.

POV book
This was my first pov book. I enjoyed the modern details of it! I will say I didn’t get into it until after 50 pages (I know)
I liked how it untangled. I will say the ending wasn’t my favorite and wish it had ended with the dads pov instead.
Nope!
Terrible. The End:!
What an awful book
No character development. So many coincidences and not even a solid ending. Do not waste your time.
