Aaron Scruggs and his wife were involved in an altercation at the Maier-Northcrest store in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Several store employees and a bystander were injured. Store merchandise was damaged. Aaron Scruggs was charged with one count of malicious trespass and four counts of assault and battery. He was found guilty of malicious trespass and on three of the four counts of assault and battery.[Footnote 1] His appeal to this Court raises the following issues:
