Descripción editorial

On July 18, 1994 the AMIA building in Buenos Aires was decimated by an explosion that killed 85 people and injured over 400 more. This terrorist attack was made against Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina, the most influential Jewish philanthropic organization in Argentina. Appearances are often deceiving, and while it appeared that the Argentine government was launching a thorough investigation, the reality was that a government-sponsored smokescreen was covering up the true details of the attack. Frustrated and stymied, survivors of the attack and families of its victims sought to reveal the truth. To that effect, they enlisted the services of internationally renowned prosecutor of Nazi war criminals Alberto Zuppi to investigate the heinous deed and its coverup. AMIA: An Ongoing Crime Extended Edition is the compelling story of Zuppi’s efforts - from the initial blast to the dramatic closing trial - to plough through the layers of corruption and intrigue to reveal the shocking truth of the case.

An active and successful investigation

I wish I could find more often books as valuable as Albertos’ “AMIA - An ongoing crime”, in which he resumed magnificently his active and successful investigation of the bombing attack against the AMIA building in Buenos Aires, covered-up by our disappointing Government.

As Attorney of “Memoria Activa”, the group of the families of the victims, he narrates his extensive work from the inside with very interesting details about the case, indeed with a broadened coyuntural perspective.

The Author also provides the reader with a very accurate explanation for the ones who aren’t familiar with these events, nor our country, even before or after the attacks to the Israel Embassy in 1992 and to the AMIA building in 1994.

I’m deeply honored to have received an original exemplar of this extended edition book - which will clearly demand more to come - from the very best Zuppi himself, the person who achieved such a meaningful result in a dolorous event of our national history.

This book not only reunites Zuppi’s unique essence in logical thinking, legal writing and Justice, but it is also an excellent document to better understand other events also taking place in our country throughout those years.

Argentine history, Human Rights and Criminal Law, all put together for the pursue of Justice. A must read!!!
