Many Christians today struggle to find their place in the church.  What does God expect from us, and how do we become who he wants us to be?  If you have wondered about God's design for your life, you are not alone.  The good news is that Jesus made our path very clear!


The Bible tells us that Jesus apprenticed twelve men to be his disciples.  He trained them to continue the work he began.  The same lessons Jesus taught those disciples are applicable to our journey of faith today.  By using Jesus's methods of discipleship as a model, we can learn the same way the original disciples did.  We don't have to guess about being in the center of God's will for our lives.


In this book, we will follow the sequence of training that Jesus laid out for his disciples.  By studying their ministry and interactions with Jesus, we will discover a path that we can still follow today.  We will learn how to say yes to Jesus and to take our place as the church.  We will explore what it means to have relationship with Jesus, and what role the Holy Spirit plays in our lives today.


To love Jesus means we value what is important to him.  Jesus said in John 14:15, "If you love me, show it by doing what I told you." (MSG) Jesus is passionately in love with his church.  When we learn to serve his church, we are serving his purpose and pleasing him with our lives.
