Fool's Gold

Too much digging can lead to disaster.

Everett Vaughn is temporarily content in the historic gold rush town of Deadman Gulch, California, although his long-term plans are still up in the air. For the time being, he enjoys his odd job and handyman gigs, especially some remodeling for handsome—but sometimes infuriating—Deputy Sheriff Cole McBeth.

Now McBeth is out of town, a cantankerous shopkeeper is dead, and Everett seems to be the only one who suspects foul play. Since he can't resist poking around where he doesn't belong, he's about to learn that there are more secrets—and dangers—in Deadman Gulch than in the old mines beneath the town.

Fool's Gold contains spoilers for book one in the Deadman Gulch series, Bottle-Shock.
