Author
On October 4, 1835, Mary Elizabeth Braddon was born in Soho, London, to Fanny and Henry Braddon. She was well-educated and began her career as an actor before opting to concentrate more on her novel writing. During her extremely active writing career, she authored about seventy-five novels with wonderfully imaginative themes. Her name is linked to the Sensation Fiction movement of the 1860s, and she shown a skill at studying society and establishing the appropriate tone in her work.
