My Friend Middie

Midnight was a Black Laborador Retriever. We called him
"Middie." Labs, as people call them are known for their loyalty
and intelligence. Middie was smart and resourceful. And
because he was very active, he had a voracious appetite.
Written as a poem with a bit of whimsy and humor, it
took Middie's owner several years to figure out that Middie
was not simply seeking companionship as his owner was. He
was looking for more.
