About the Book
The ancient Greek poet Aeschylus wrote Agamemnon, the first of the three plays that comprise the Oresteia trilogy. It tells the story of King Agamemnon of Argos' journey home after the Trojan War. His wife, Clytemnestra, is waiting for him at home, where she has been planning a revenge killing. Initially, for sacrificing their daughter Iphigenia, who was killed to appease the gods and restore normalcy to the winds, allowing the Greek navy to sail to Troy. Moreover, for Agamemnon to have taken Cassandra as his concubine.
