The Cauldbearers Stone

GLORIA, a gifted archaeologist with a closely guarded secret, leads an expedition into the mountains of Romania in search of a legendary burial site. By touching bone, soil, or objects tied to death, Gloria can experience psychic echoes of the past. The ability has made her brilliant in her field, but it has also forced her into a life of secrecy and isolation. What should be the greatest discovery of her career instead becomes the beginning of a nightmare.
 

Years earlier, Gloria and several other women unknowingly took part in a ritual that fractured the veil between worlds and awakened powers within them. Now scattered across different lives and unaware of their full importance, these women have become known as Caulbearers. Individually they are dangerous. Together they possess the power to either seal the breach permanently or tear it open completely.
 

Watching Gloria from the shadows is AREYMUS, a powerful guardian sent by the ruling council to track and protect one of the Caulbearers until the women can be reunited. Bound by duty, secretive by nature, and accustomed to command, Areymus is frustrated by Gloria's independence and distrust. Gloria, meanwhile, believes the mysterious warrior may be tied to the danger gathering around her.
