Descripción editorial

W.G. appeals his third 180-day involuntary commitment for inpatient treatment at Western State Hospital (WSH). He argues that the trial court erred by denying him the right to proceed pro se; issuing jury instructions that were not supported by the record; and inappropriately commenting on the record. He also contends that the State failed to prove its case by clear, cogent, and convincing evidence, relying wrongly on his original conviction. Because the issues are moot and the record is inadequate for our review of the public interest issues involved, we dismiss the appeal.
