With all his heart: The Bavarian singer-songwriter reads his book In 2006, Hans Söllner's book, "Bloß a Gschicht" ("Just a Face") was published. The singer-songwriter, Rastafarian and passionate critic of the system from Bad Reichenhall wrote straight from his soul for five days straight.
"His text has an ethnic charm that should not be mistaken for primitiveness", wrote the Abendzeitung München about "Bavaria's biggest folk singer of our times". "He plows up his text like a field, crumbles sentences with a certain violent Jandl-like eloquence."
His fans had to wait a long time before Söllner turned his book into an audio book. He reads it in his language, Bavarian, and just like his singing it's full of heart and emotion. To the relief of everyone who doesn't speak Bavarian, he followed the motto of his book during his reading: "I wrote it all slowly, therefore I should read it slowly."
"The Old Testament pull of his imagery, his gently brutal choice of words" (Süddeutsche Zeitung) can be avoided by no one.
The "Bloß A Gschicht" double album was recorded in the Highberg Studios in Weissbach-Marzoll.
