Fantastic performance by Sophie Aldred
I usually don’t review much of anything because I’m lazy like that, but Sophie Aldred did such an absolutely incredible job on this that I felt compelled to give my two cents.
Brandon Sanderson is one of my favourite authors and this book, as expected, did not disappoint. In fact I think it may be one of my favourites. But I suspect that apart from the compelling story, and loveable characters and fantastic banter, a big reason for my having fallen so completely and utterly in love with Spensa, Jorgen, MBot and co is Sophie’s absolutely stunning and hilarious performance. She gives each character a completely unique voice and I’m thoroughly impressed by her accent imitation proficiency. I laughed out loud multiple times and feel that at least as much credit for this is due to Sophies impeccable comedic timing as it is to Brandons dialogue writing proficiency.
In fact I enjoyed her reading so much, I’m listening to this for the second time in a row, which is an absolute first for me.
