18 Degrees and Counting

The insignificant planet of Dabiq seemed to be of no use to anyone, which was why Dr. Clarissa Al-Saud looked at her upcoming appointment to stay their 17 month night looking for pirates as entirely pointless. Her fellow officer, Anthony McClain, has other ideas. Temperamental, invasive, domineering, twitchy, and worst of all, MALE, Clarissa is certain events will only go from bad to worse.
Which they do.
And her only hope of survival is in McClain’s arms.

TONY
Tony wanted to hit himself; he just actually conceptualized the end result of his growing obsession for Claire: the woman who was given no choice but to be exiled with him thousands of kilometers from civilization and who he was beginning to think of as his.

JARED
Claire shook her head, strands of hair fell about her face, and she slipped straight into bitch-mode. “Okay, so you decided that for my training the hair had to go. Lets stop and think for a minute about all the fucking different ways you could have accomplished this.” She lifted up her middle finger, “Number 1: you could have asked me.” She lifted up her other middle finger, “Number 2: you could have written a memo.” Her index finger joined her middle finger, “Number 3: you c-…” Jared had never seen anything more wonderful in all of his years training.

CLAIRE
“Look. It’s a total loony bin up there! Do you want me to tell you that only MacComhaill knows what the hell is going on down here and he’s not even in the operations command, or shall I get into the fact that our contract between my ‘merchants’ and his mercenaries is enforced by polyandrous-woman-kidnappers?!”
