Confessions of a Soup Nazi

“Look around for some rope or something.”  Grady whispered when they got in there.

Jewel started searching through desk drawers while Grady looked around, but they didn’t find anything, and Grady, feeling time pass too quickly, made an immediate decision.  He went to the man lying on the ground, grabbed his head between both his hands, and twisted with massive force.  Jewel cringed hearing all the cracking that occurred when the spinal cord detached, and she just stood there staring at her husband in complete disbelief as he broke the man’s neck.

“Come on.  Let’s go,” he said grabbing her hand.

She slowly reached out and grabbed his hand, still staring at the man on the floor, watching him gasp for his last breath.  Her head was spinning.  Everything that was happening seemed unreal, and the only thing she wanted to do was lay down, feeling the nausea hit her empty stomach once again.

They quickly located the hatch door, and Grady figured out a way to make the rug fall into place after having lowered Jewel into the tunnel, and then dropped the man’s body down into the tunnel with them to leave no trace of where they had gone. 

They were safely out of the house and into the tunnel that supposedly nobody knew about, but Grady didn’t want to waste any time.  They didn’t know how long the tunnel was, and he didn’t know how long they would be able to go through the cold, wet tunnel without needing warmth and rest.
