La Rosa firefighter Grace Addison is currently on disability as she recovers from the deadly fire that killed two of her colleagues and trapped her inside an inferno where she barely escaped with her life. When a call from the mayor turns into an offer to head the arson task force, she faces resentment from the current task force members who don’t like this female “taking over.” This includes the drop-dead-gorgeous former task force leader, tough ATF agent, Jordan Kelly, a man with something to prove. Before she gets to the bottom of things she has to contend with politics, resentment and passion.

Jordan Kelly lives with his failure to save hostages when he was a negotiator. His sensitivity to being replaced by Grace brings back all his doubts and sense of failure. But as the serial arsonist stalks Grace and La Rosa, Jordan discovers the scars he carries are a potent barrier until one woman explodes into his life making him face his past, a past he’s not sure he can overcome.



In a powerful tug of war between deep emotion and hot needs, Grace and Jordan must work together against a ruthless killer and learn that nothing, and no one, is as it seems. To triumph they must each overcome their personal guilt and fear as their lives and their happiness hang in the balance.
