Bruno Lambourg, MD originally from Fleurance , France and currently residing in both Boynton Beach, FL and Bordeaux, France since 2001, is the author of HNS NCLEX-RN Prep. The first text of its kind in that it presents a review of material key to success on the NCLEX RN both in English and in Spanish. According to Dr. Lambourg , one of the greatest challenges foreign nursing graduates face in their mission of trying to attain licensure are barriers in the language. This text helps the student to accomplish two key goals in practicing nursing in the U.S. the first improving English medical terminology and secondly to learn to think critically to be able to successfully pass the NCLEX-RN exam.
Each chapter depending on the topic contains a review in pertinent physiology , followed by the assessments or signs and symptoms associated to particular pathologies and implementations required of each condition. This information is presented both in English and in Spanish. Additionally, the text includes key test taking techniques to assist the perspective nurse in learning how to conquer the NCLEX. The assessment and implementations referred to within the text are considered standard criterion referred to in many public materials including the Centers for Disease control, and many Nurse Practice acts across the nation. Several nurses currently in the field have been collaborative consultants on this project.
This text is meant to be used as a supplement to many other NCLEX-RN preparation programs which contain questions similar to those seen on the NCLEX. The HNS text does not contain questions because its primary purpose is that the bilingual student understand the content material clearly in both languages. Once this occurs then the student nurse can apply this knowledge to any question and his daily practice.
