Amy Williams has worked hard to achieve her goals through high school, college and in her career. She’s an accounting manager for Merit Communications in Denver. And she’s met the man she wants to marry, Travis Taylor, an attorney she works with. She feels she's in control of her life and it’s going the way she wants it to. Then Amy learns that she will have to transfer to Houston when Merit is acquired by Conent Communications.


Amy became a Christian in college, but focused on work and then Travis, so she has grown distant from God. She hasn’t gone to church for years. She doesn’t really believe that God cares about her problems anyway. 


Amy’s realtor in Houston invites her to visit a church called Mercy Fellowship. She develops friendships and begins to grow again in her relationship with God.


Amy learns to rely on God moment-by-moment. One morning a stray kitten appears on her back porch. At first she is reluctant to take it in, but she falls in love with the scrawny kitten, and names him Pippin. As she takes care of Pippin, she realizes that he is like a gift from God. 


Then her new company is acquired again and now she is thrown into eddies and currents of illegal activity . . .
