A mysterious woman offers Hal forty thousand credits to deliver a single package to planet Jordia, and it's exactly the sort of job he can't afford to refuse.

Meanwhile, his cargo of luxury produce is held in stasis, protected by a cut-price, patched-up controller that promptly explodes.

The perishables immediately start to perish, and Hal must find replacement parts before a hold full of ruined goods ruins him.

Unfortunately, when he returns with the parts, the smouldering remains of the stasis controller are missing, along with the valuable cargo, the mysterious customer and the rest of his ship.
