Last Post is the final book in Ford Madox Ford's tetralogy, Parade's End - regularly voted one of the great books of the 20th century. It is often regarded as the odd one out of the series - and Graham Greene omitted it from his edition of Parade's End. It still divides critics today. The BBC tv series of Parade's End (2012) also chose to ignore most of it.
