On a quest for gold and glory, mercenary Jim Carnaby signs on as a guard on an expedition led by Professor Collins, his fiancee Marianne and their mysterious native guide, Tantu. Journeying into the perilous and untamed interior of the Amazonian rainforest in search of the fabled Lost City of the Sleeping God, he finds instead, savage violence, treachery and a creature out of eldritch nightmare.
