In Tuscany, in the town of Asciano, in the Crete Senesi, on a hill full of lonely cypress stands the famous Abbey of Monte Oliveto. Mother house of the Benedictine Olivetan, the Abbey consists of a complex of buildings dating from the XIV-XVIII including the abbey church and monastery, in whose cloister is possible to admire a series of frescoes by Signorelli and Sodoma representing the life of St. Benedict.


In Toscana, nel comune di Asciano, tra le crete senesi, su un altura solitaria densa di cipressi sorge la celeberrima Abbazia di Monte Oliveto. Casa madre dei Benedettini Olivetani, l'Abbazia consta di un complesso di edifici dei secoli XIV-XVIII tra cui la chiesa abbaziale ed il monastero, nel cui chiostro grande è possibile ammirare una serie di affreschi del Signorelli e del Sodoma raffiguranti la vita di San Benedetto.
