Mother Goose, Ph.D‪.‬

Through the years, decades, and even centuries, small children have been raised with what are often called "nursery rhymes" or "Mother Goose rhymes," after a character named Mother Goose, who is mentioned in one of them. Parents and older siblings recite them repeatedly to the younger children. And there are good reasons for doing so: such rhymes expose the children to, grow their understanding of, and increase their abilities in language, grammar, syntax, rhythm, rhyme, abstract concepts, responsibility, morals, imagination, and more. But after a child reaches a certain age, Mother Goose rhymes are relegated to childhood memories, and are put aside for the growing importance of formal education, and the taking on of more responsibility as one approaches adulthood. But every once in a while, it's nice to recall some of the nursery rhymes we heard as children. But since they are usually no longer as intellectually stimulating as they were when we were wee bairns, they don't hold our attention like they used to. This book, Mother Goose, Ph.D., is intended to remedy that. It is a collection of the best-known Mother Goose rhymes, translated into precise scientific and technical language, with just a touch of badinage (that's "humor" for all you uncultured folks) thrown in.
