The Life of Trust

George Müller was a Prussian-born evangelical who came to England in 1829 and spent the rest of his ninety-three years in Bristol. From 1836 until his death in 1898 he ran a network of orphan houses that at its height cared for more than two thousand children at a time, refusing on principle to solicit donations or publicize the orphanage's specific financial needs.

*The Life of Trust* is his own running account of the work, drawn from journals he kept from 1830 onward and expanded across the rest of his life into a long autobiographical narrative. It is the principal record of one of the most-watched experiments in practical Christianity of the nineteenth century.
