It’s no Phoenix Project
I absolutely loved Phoenix Project, so really want to like this. And to be fair, there are probably quite a few discrete insights to be found.
Overall, though, it’s just a long, meandering and directionless conversation between two authors who are very familiar with project management, which is pitched at the level of two authors who are very familiar with project management. I suspect that, if you can understand much of what they’re discussing, you won’t get much from it that you don’t already know. And if there is something you don’t know, you won’t get much from it anyway, because it’s pitched above your level. No explanation, analogy, clarification, etc. Just a lengthy chat.
If you’re just interested in the author’s perspectives and some of their favourite books, give it a go. If you’re hoping for something that elaborates on key learning points from the Phoenix Project, this is not it.
Good follow up and discussion
I am a huge fan of the Phoenix and Unicorn Project. This was a great opportunity to hear deeper from the author’s personal experiences and how they shaped the books. A good value add but not essential
