Not scared
It’s a page turner: I’ll give it that. But the only truly scary thing about it is the number of people who apparently take this stuff seriously: witness the rise of QAnone and suchlike.
P.S. IMO, H.P.Lovecraft’s works are indeed great, but they all suffer from the same problem: they see evil everywhere. There’s evil in the different races, foreign cultures, ancient civilisations—even in the outer space. Evil is lurking out there, waiting to devour the tiny New England, the last candle of sanity. In other words, Mr. and Mrs. Average fear anything and everything that’s different, or out of the ordinary. Personally, I don’t like this attitude, don’t share it, and don’t believe it should be encouraged.
