Decent premises, poor execution
This is definitely not one of his best books. He tried to replicate the samestory as the Pluto series but this was very rushed brutal as ever which I like the villain himself, it’s okay but everyone else falls flat even the gold one I thought was probably the second best and the main characters.husbanded
Who is this for?
The way many of the action scenes seems aimed at a young audience…but there are references to violence and rape that go against that
It seemed rushed & not well thought out in the second half…as if it was supposed to be much longer and edited WAY down
And as for the theme itself, feels like Mr Reilly got drunk watching the boys on Amazon, woke up with a hangover and what he thought was an original concept
Been a big fan since ice station…but he’s losing me these days, secret runners of New York was the same confusing and head scratching at this but longer
Truly Awful
The only redeeming feature of this book is that it is short, and even then it feels too long. Dumb story, redundant flashbacks, contradictions, plot holes, stereotypes, predictable ‘twists’ and lazy, lazy writing. I’m sure students could write better.
Scathing because I expect more from a professional writer. It is honestly that bad.
