When young Sarah Parrish takes a skiing vacation to Gulmarg, a resort nestled in the mountains above the fabled Vale of Kashmir, she anticipates an entertaining but uneventful stay. But when she discovers that the deaths of two in her party are the result of foul play, she finds herself entrusted with a mission of unforeseen importance. Customer Reviews
Not a good reading
I was very disappointed with this audiobook. I have heard it read by British actress Virginia McKenna and it was superb. This lady who read was not nearly as good. I could not tell which of the characters in the story she was reading, they all sounded the same. On one occasion the character "Hugo" as these words in French "En Avant, mes enfants", it was extremely badly pronounced, I speak fluent French and didn't understand what she said until I look at it in the book. You don't have to speak French to do a bit of research and try to read words properly. There are many mispronounced words in English too. "Death in Kashmir" is my favorite M.M. Kaye novel because I spent my childhood in India. I am disappointed that a better reader wasn't selected to read this interesting story.
