Try 'Shadowboxing with Aimee Mann' first...

Terry Gross does a decent enough interview with the superb Aimee Mann, even if her line of questioning seems to 'meander' at times instead of having a sharper focus... the show is still good and worth the asking price, but what annoyed me most was that Aimee's songs have been cut from the show. Gross is trying to walk users through Mann's work, and constantly and intelligently intros a song before it's discussed -- but for some reason, those songs are all missing. The audio fades out barely as the music starts, and then fades back in right away after the song has finished. You'd imagine this is some form of rights restriction, except that no such restrictions have been applied to the 'Shadowboxing with Aimee Mann' podcast, which is in fact a far superior interview, and is free to boot. So if you're looking for an Aimee fix and want to get inside the story of her latest album The Forgotten Arm, 'Shadowboxing' is a far superior offering in every regard.
