Publisher Description
Great Expectations is a novel by Charles Dickens, first serialised in
All the Year Round from December 1860 to August 1861. The action of the story takes place from Christmas Eve 1812, when the protagonist is about seven years old, to the winter of 1840.
Great Expectations is written in a semi-autobiographical style, and is the story of the orphan Pip, tracing his life from his early days of childhood until adulthood. The story can also be considered a semi-autobiographical portrait of Dickens, like much of his work, drawing on his experiences of life and people.

Great expectations
Excellent recording, fantastic narrator. Yes the editing removes the pauses but it allows you to get through a really long book in a relatively short space of time. Well worth it (especially for the money)
Great book - Terrible recording.
I dont recommend purchasing this audiobook. This classic novel is ruined by editing which has taken out the pause between each sentence. The unnatural delivery renders the story surprisingly un-pleasurable to listen to. My friend and I could only put up with 10mins before stopping it...never to begin listening again.
Very bad editing
Despite fantastic voices this great book was simply impossible to listen to because all the natural pauses have been edited out.
