Stephen Fry brings the richness of these magical stories to life in the original British recordings.
Turning the envelope over, his hand trembling, Harry saw a purple wax seal bearing a coat of arms; a lion, an eagle, a badger and a snake surrounding a large letter 'H'.
Treat your ears to a performance so rich and captivating you'll imagine yourself in the halls of Hogwarts. Wherever you listen, the unmistakable voice of Stephen Fry is guaranteed to guide you ever more deeply into this magical story and transport you to the heart of the adventure.
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!
Theme music composed by James Hannigan
Having become classics of our time, the Harry Potter stories never fail to bring comfort and escapism. With their message of hope, belonging and the enduring power of truth and love, the story of the Boy Who Lived continues to delight generations of new listeners.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
If you’re like us, you’ve read J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books so many times you can recite entire scenes verbatim. Luckily, there’s no need for that—the incomparable Stephen Fry has done it for you. With his knack for dramatic storytelling, the British actor was born to retell the first book of the wildly successful series. He gives distinct voices to Rowling’s colorful range of characters—mousey Neville Longbottom, ginormous Hagrid, a squawkily adolescent Ron Weasley—and makes this audiobook is a genuinely wonderful listen.

Exee and Exceptional!
A little bit expensive for an audiobook (particularly if you want the whole series) yet completely out of this world exceptional! Stephen Fry does an amazing job and you get immersed in the story and taken to J.K.’s world through his character voices and inflections. The details are great. Worth it if you are a fan or simply would like an introduction to the series.
Bit disappointed in narration.
I love the Harry Potter books and I do like Stephen Fry however I was disappointed with his narration. I’m assuming they wanted a “name” to read the books. I’ve just finished another series of books, also English, and the narrator, totally unknown to me, Alex Jennings, leaves Mr Fry dead in his tracks. Still a good listen though but not top notch.
Must read this book!
Harry Potter and the philosophers stone is about when young Harry came to the Dursley’s house by professor Dumbledore because his parents died because of You-Know-Who. I really love this book because it is good and interesting, that when I’m watching it in tv my father also comes and watches it with me. Another thing I like about this book is that it is for all ages and you can also read or watch the movies but year 5 year6 year 7 and year 8 but if you are 7 or 8 years old those parts are not really good but the books are very good 👍 I really hope you enjoy reading the book!😆😀😁😄☺️🙂🙂🙂🙂
