Too much sibilance.
The excessive sibilance ruins an otherwise enjoyable story.

Voices used irritating
Stories are ok but a bit dated. The voices are grating. Had to go to next story on occasion just because of the tone of voice used
Bizarrely Misguided
A spirited effort at female emancipation—provided one is born into the ‘appropriate’ class. The lower classes are casually dismissed as little more than animals. Mystery twists often hinge on now-outdated understandings of upper– or lower-class behaviours and limitations. Deeply disturbing!
