What would happen if they told the truth instead?
Julian Jessop is tired of hiding the deep loneliness he feels. So he begins The Authenticity Project - a small green notebook containing the truth about his life.
Leaving the notebook on a table in his friendly neighbourhood café, Julian never expects Monica, the owner, to track him down after finding it. Or that she'll be inspired to write down her own story.
Little do they realize that such small acts of honesty hold the power to impact all those who discover the notebook and change their lives completely.

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Sometimes, you encounter a story so heartwarming that you just want to hold it close and savour every line. Clare Pooley’s The Authenticity Project is a genuinely uplifting tale that starts with something awfully moving. Julian Jessop—a painter nearing 80 and experiencing crushing loneliness—unwittingly begins the titular project after committing his innermost feelings to a green notepad that he leaves in a London cafe. Its owner, experiencing similar feelings herself, in turn adds her feelings to the notebook and passes it forward. Soon, it sparks a mini revolution as its recipients unlock the huge emotional impact of seemingly small acts of honesty. Beautifully read by Anna Cordell, this is a funny, deeply affecting tale that will take you down avenues that you least expected.
