All Except Lion Witch and Wardrobe
I found all very good except Lion Witch and wardrobe. Michael York's cadence and voice is tedious. I admire him as an actor. He just used the wrong the voice for this book. Apart from that a great set of audio books
the complete series of narnia chronicles
Wow! I know we're suppose to keep reviews short and to the point, but there is rather a lot to say about these recordings. I was firstly amazed to discover that book 7 the last battle was narrated by the one and only famous captain pickard, yes, the star of the star trek next generation tv series, yes, it's the very same Patrick Stewart. Each of the 7 audio books has a different narrator. I'm not sure why, but I don't mind this in the slightest. Audible and harper colins have done a simply superb job, each narrator has been hand picked, I have absolutely no doubts about saying this, for each of the 7 books. Not only that, they even got the right narrator for the right book too. As a totally blind person who listens to lots and lots of audio books, this is, I have to say it, no mean feet. It's terrible, believe me, when you get a book in an audio format which was recommended to you by your sighted friends. you just know that the book is going to be absolutely brilliant, but oh dear, the narrator is completely bored and he or she isn't interested in the slightest in the material he or she is reading. It then puts you off from listening to the audio book, because whilst you know the book is simply brilliant, the narrator bores you because they have no interest in the subject matter or the text they are reading. This definitely cannot be said about these audio books. All 7 narrators are absolutely fantastic, and it's hard to come up with a favourite, although Patrick is my personal favourite. This isn't to say the others are bad, oh dear no. A simply superb collection at a simply superb price. All of the recordings are of the highest sound quality, which really makes a difference when like me you are blind and have to rely on this to listen to an audio book. This simply superb collection should be in everyones audio book collection. Hours and hours of listening pleasure when you are travelling with your apple mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod or apple tv device, yes even windows users should simply buy the audio books. I would give these recordings 10 stars if iTunes allowed me, they are truly the best set or collection of recordings I have ever bought off iTunes yet, and that's saying something. Thank you iTunes, audible and harper colins, and thank you c s lewis, and thank you to all 7 narrators. A superb job, 10 stars.
This is a full audio experience
Unlike most boring audiobooks where its just the one person reading, this has a great cast, soundtrack and full sounds effects. Think movie but with no pictures.
