Needs to be re-recorded by professional voice actor
Interesting story but could have been improved if it went more into her actual rehab process, rather than thoughts and feelings. Every time I pressed play to listen, I had to fight myself to not turn it off. No offence meant but someone had a terrible idea of having the author read the story herself. It is the most grating voice I’ve ever heard on any audio book. It’s like a voice coach said, “You’ve got to get rid of your Australian inflection at the end of sentences!” So now, the narrator starts each sentence sounding completely normal but ends EVERY, SINGLE sentence in a grating rasp. Every.single.damn.sentence. It’s soooooooooooooooo annoying. Really, REALLY hard to listen to; which is unfortunate as it’s an interesting story to tell about quite a lovely, young girl. Story also seems to flip flop a bit and not finish stories within the story. I do not recommend audio book. Maybe it’s better being read rather than listened to?
