APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Before unveiling this monumental classic of historical fiction in 1989, Ken Follett was best known for penning modern thrillers. The novel follows an expansive tapestry of characters in 12th-century England as they attempt to build a grand cathedral. Inspired by the development of architecture through the Middle Ages, The Pillars of the Earth is rich with artful foreshadowing and a dense thicket of mini-dramas. But Follett’s epic undertaking is most memorable for its delicate eye-level details, which glow with tender workmanship.
Customer Reviews
Loved this book
I found this book really intriguing, I love the way the writer has written the book in a way that is captivating and keeps the reader/listener always wondering what's next.
I love how the characters stories all mix and align with each other as the book continues.
However, I was surprised with the ending of the book, not as I would have imagined it to end.
Will definitely be interested to read the other books in the series.
Errors in compliatiln
The story has skipped forward in two places so far. There must be an error in the conversion from CD to digital. I have no idea who to contact about this but it is ruining the book for me. Don’t buy this version.
