APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
We clear our schedules whenever one of Karin Slaughter’s Will Trent thrillers is on the docket. In this instalment, a prison inmate convicted of a string of vicious sexual assaults tells the veteran Georgia Bureau of Investigation agent that he can prove he was framed for the crimes. Slaughter’s clinical depictions of the brutally violent attacks had us gritting our teeth, and so did the web of untruths and deceptions that Will and his partner, Faith, must untangle. And Kathleen Early’s gutsy narration strikes just the right chord for this gritty mystery. If you’re new to the series, this is a great place to start because it reveals some of the characters’ backstories, especially in the intense flashback chapters. Whether you’re in the mood for a bruising action hero or a Gillian Flynn–like domestic thriller, The Silent Wife is a gripping listen from start to end.

The woman reading this book has the most annoying voice I have ever heard. Not sure how it got published.
