APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Twilight, the first novel in the generation-defining Young Adult series by Stephenie Meyer, comes to life in this thrilling audiobook. The book that launched a cultural phenomenon, Twilight charts the tumultuous romance between teenager Bella Swan and vampire Edward Cullen. Complications deepen when a sinister pack of vampires descends on Bella’s dreary small town of Forks. Prolific voiceover actor Ilyana Kadushin’s spirited yet sincere narration perfectly embodies Bella's unruly emotions and the experience of first love, which anchors the story. While many will be well-acquainted with the book series and blockbuster film franchise, the audiobook format gives listeners a new perspective on the unlikely love story, and lets them marvel at Meyer’s inventive world-building and unique depiction of teenage desire.
Its suprisingly good afterall !!!!
I put off getting this audiobook for so long because of the bad reviews about the narrator's voice. I had already read the series and had voices for all the characters in my head and her voice just didn't work for me when I listened to the preview.
I do however love audiobooks and listen to many of them. I finally gave in to my desire to have Twilight in audiobook and am glad I did. It didn't take too long for me to completely forget about her voice and just enjoy the story. After a while I realised that its the same when I listen to any audiobook - I soon tune out the narrator's tone and cadence and just hear the story.
I realised that as I am such a big fan of Twilight I had many expectations and I think that could be the issue with a lot of the reviewers. If you are used to listening to different narrators on a variety of audiobooks I think you might be able to agree that you soon get past the voice and just hear the story.
I don't want to mislead anyone - I just wanted to give an honest account of my own experience. I will be buying the other audiobooks in the series eventually as well. Hope it helps.
Twilight bad reading
Unfortunately, the reader of this audiobook is a let down, she mispronounces the words, sounds very nasal and ruins the whole story-telling, I went back to reading the book.
A fantastic start to an awesome saga
This is an awesome book, and is the first book in the twilight saga. The audio commentary is great, and really draws you in, and you can't help but fall in love with the characters in these books. It is a tale of true love, as the two main characters Edward, a 100 plus year old vampire, and Bella, a 17 year old human girl, struggle against all odds to be together, the least of which is his burning thirst for her blood. Fantastic story and is well worth purchasing.
