Publisher Description

Wildflower is a portrait of Drew's life in stories as she looks back on the adventures, challenges, and incredible experiences of her earlier years. It includes tales of living on her own at 14 (and how laundry may have saved her life), getting stuck in a gas station overhang on a cross country road trip, saying goodbye to her father in a way only he could have understood, and many more adventures and lessons that have led her to the successful, happy, and healthy place she is today. It is the first book Drew has written about her life since the age of 14.

Everything, Just Everything

Drew Barrymore is loveable and wonderful in every single way. I suppose there are people in the world who find her insipid and fake, those people are joyless and do not know love. When I was little my older sister loved the movie Ever After, I must have been ten when I first saw it. I was change forever. Who was this person. Soft and intelligent and somehow a person who has lived more life than anybody her age could possibly live. I was hooked, she and her indescribable voice wormed her way into my brain and I was in love.

Drew Barrymore approaches narration of her memoir like a movie roll. She inflects, she screams, she does voices, things are not safe and balanced. She wants you to live her life with you. She takes your hand and makes you feel every second as she acts out her crazy life. She exudes joy, and sadness, and every other emotion she describes.

You will find it so damn hard to put it down, and you will have an overwhelming desire to plant an avocado tree.

Sweet surprises throughout

I purchased to listen to while driving, as I drive for work and in rural Australia. I usually listen to novels & self-help but needed a change and what a change. Short stories/memories with some sweet detail or of the humorous variety was wonderful to hear from tHe authors own mouth. Only half way too. Only criticism would be the audio volume fluctuates sometimes and takes me by surprise, not good while driving haha. Well done.
